COOLING BEDS

Quad has supplied new and revamped cooling beds for bar and structural mills. Designs are engineered to meet the specific space and productivity requirements of the mill location. Thermal analysis, air flow simulations and temperature modeling are used to size beds and resolve site specific issues.

Quad has re-engineered existing cooling beds to improve performance and product quality. This includes adding aligning rolls and re-topping the bed to increase productivity and change the rake profiles. Beds can also been lengthened and drive systems analyzed.
